Playing with the <DIV> Tag. Reference: w3schools.com

<div style=”border:solid 1px black; width:200px; height:100px; overflow:auto; float:left; margin: 20px;”>

Talking about DIVS
http://www.w3schools.com/

When we talk about css and html one of the best online sources
is w3schools.com.

There they have tutorials, examples, and even tools to let you see
what happens when you change things.

<div style=”border:1px solid black; height:100px;width:300px; overflow:auto; float:right; margin: 20px;”>

The <div> tag defines a division or a section in an HTML document.

The <div> tag is often used to group block-elements to format them with styles.

<div style=”clear:both;border:solid 1px red; background:yellow;margin:20px;” >
This is a div that is clearing the above floating divs

Article: Landing Page Mistakes and What to do about them

Headlines:

Are you making these 7 common landing page mistakes?

Landing Page Mistakes and How to Fix them

Are you losing money with these common mistakes?

I feel bad, but I yelled at her when I saw her website . . .

Your website sucks! but you can fix it . . .

You claim you want to make money, so why is your web site . . .

How much money are you going to waste on PPC before you fix your website?

Body:
Hi Webmaster,

I have looked more at your landing page and have the following
comments. Please don’t take offense if my tone is a little harsh.
These are very common mistakes that everyone makes until they know
better. I have written in all-caps in places to add emphasis – I am
not shouting at you!

The page people are directed to after they click on your ads is making
some big mistakes. Until these mistakes are ALL fixed, you are wasting
money sending traffic to the page.

1. All the stuff  at the top of the page detracts from the message. if
I click on an ad I expect to see something that is about the ad I
clicked on. Instead I am seeing a Logo, a login area, a menu, and a
quote about healthy living that has nothing to do with the ad I
clicked on. You have to get rid of the joomla site header stuff for
your landing page – your landing page should have FIRST THING a title
with the same keywords, phrase, or offer that is in the ad that people
click on. For this reason, EACH AD NEED’S ITS OWN LANDING PAGE.

2. Most people don’t read, they browse, and you only have something
like 12 seconds to grab their attention before they hit the “back”
button. Your landing page does not capture their attention.  - mainly
because of #1, but also because your page copy doesn’t have bullet
points – mini headlines in the text – and is a bit jumbled.

3. I came to the page and I didn’t know what you wanted me to do!
there was no clear call to action. There needs to only be one possible
action for people to take,

Your landing page should have one Extra Big Link or Button at the
bottom. There could be COPIES of the same “call to action” in various
places on the page – but there only should be ONE possible action.
People who have both a email signup form  AND a buy button are wasting
traffic and money.

4. The sales letter is a big turn off because right in the first part
of it the reader gets hit with “I received my nutritional education at
Mercy College in NY and have worked in the fitness and private club
industry for over 12 years. I am a published expert, have written
numerous articles, provide individual and group coaching sessions and
have just completed a revised “Guide to Permanent Health & Weight
Management”.”

The reader doesn’t care. The reader only cares what is in it for them.
The quoted text is appropriate in a side box, or an article bio box
(you know, about the author).

5. The sales letter wouldn’t sound very nice if read out load. Imagine
you are having a conversation with a friend, or better yet, talk to a
friend about your product, and then record the conversation. If you
transcribe the things you say in the conversation, you will have more
of what the sales letter should feel like.

6. I finally found it! “Claim your Copy Today” is the buy link. It
looks more like a headline, and because it is not even underlined, I
would not know to click on it.
Try changing it to “Click here to add to cart” and make sure it is
underlined (to LOOK like a link.) as the page is now, I would have a
hard time buying even if I was really motivated to.

7. I can’t go anywhere from here! The “add to cart” button on the
second page is broken – in all three browsers I tried, firefox,
internet explorer, and google chrome.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS order a product from your website all the way
through to check out before spending money on PPC. THIS IS NOW BROKEN
ON YOUR SITE AND YOU ARE WASTING ANY MONEY SPENT ON TRAFFIC.

Bottom Line: – You have seen from hard experience how expensive it is
to pay for traffic to send to a page that does not work! Make sure
people are able to order from your page before sending any traffic
there. Make sure it is clear how to order. Make sure it is clear WHY
to order.

Find a competitors ad that you see everywhere (That really annoying
ugly before and after picture belly fat picture is a good example.)
and click on it and see what their landing page looks like. .

Please let me know if you have any questions!
